Since December 2012, we have collected over 750 lbs of clothes, shoes, toiletries, back packs, sleeping bags etc., made and handed out 500 lunches, delivered 220 lbs of books and helped over 800 people who are on the streets of downtown Vancouver. With the help of many selfless and kind volunteers we bring these items directly to the people who need them the most~ Our group grows every time we plan another trip and I gratefully and humbly acknowledge everyone who has helped thus far:
- Volunteers: Jen, Laurissa, Lesley, Linda, Robyn, Nicky, MaryRose (son & girlfriend), Karen, Linda, Scott, George
- Individual Donations: Elizabeth, Win, Pam, Bev, Holly, Dawson, Shirley, Craig, Drew, Jacob, Beverly, Amber
- Company Donations: Superstore, Costco, Town and Country, Assistive Technology BC, Best Western Kamloops
Our trips begin with canvassing people for any 'gently used' seasonal items (we go 4 times a year) for the people on the streets. Please contact us for our brochure to give you more of an idea of what is needed. The Volunteers then collect items for months at a time, then go buy the food, put together lunches and have a 'convoy" of cars drive directly downtown, set up on the street and hand everything out! ~
